O CYBERBULLYING EXISTE E ESTE RAPAZ DE 13 ANOS VAI FAZER ALGO QUANTO A ISSO

Chama-se Luke Culhane e tem 13 anos. Publica vídeos no YouTube há um ano. O último dá pelo nome de“Cyber Bullying: Create No Hate” e está a captar atenção do mundo, ou não se tratasse de uma poderosa mensagem contra o cyberbullying. O vídeo conta com uma produção exímia.

Publicado na segunda-feira, o vídeo mostra um rapaz de Limerick, Irlanda, a receber mensagens desagradáveis no seu telemóvel. Cada novo abuso corresponde a uma lesão física – nariz a sagrar, olho negro, mão ao pescoço… –, sugerindo que a carga emocional envolvida no cyberbullying não é menos dolorosa que um trauma físico.

“Eu mesmo sofri cyberbullying, e isso inspirou-me a fazer este vídeo para sensibilizar as outras pessoas sobre como lidar com o cyberbullying”, disse Culhane. “Queria mostrar que não não é só o bullying físico que magoa as pessoas, pelo que decidi mostrar a relação entre os dois tipos de bullying.”

Há uma geração atrás era um problema inexistente, mas hoje o cyberbullying é uma preocupação nas muitas escolas do mundo desenvolvido. Em 2014, mais de metade dos adolescentes disse que sofreu cyberbullying pelo menos uma vez, com um quarto a dizer que enfrentou frequentemente abusos quer nos seus telemóveis quer na Internet, segundo o movimento NoBullying.com.

Play your part by using STOP, BLOCK TELL.

STOP: Stop and think before posting something online that might be upsetting to someone. Think about how you would feel if you were in their position.

BLOCK: If you are a victim of cyber-bullying you should block and report the person that has been bullying you.

TELL: If you think you are being cyber bullied, report it to a parent, teacher or guardian. Cyber bullying is not ok, nobody deserves it and we can all help to put a end to it for good!
